It’s hard enough to sing in front of an audience in your own language, but doing so in a foreign one is practically unthinkable! For this contestant on The Voice Poland, singing in English comes naturally!
Now his audition performance of “When a Man Loves a Woman” is lighting up the Internet. Once you hear it for yourself, it’s easy to understand why!
It’s a little known fact that “When a Man Loves a Woman” was actually a big debate between the three men who are credited with its creation, Calvin Lewis, Andrew Wright and Percy Sledge. The original riff first came around when Andrew Wright was messing with his organ before a Friday night dance performance.
From there, the trio spent weeks reworking the tune and lyrics until they were just right. Although Calvin and Andrew were given writing credit for the song, Percy later came out and said he deserved part of the credit, as well.
While that dispute has long since blown over, the popularity of “When a Man Loves a Woman” has withstood the test of time. That’s why Mateusz Ziolko decided to sing it during his audition on The Voice Poland.
Not only does Mateusz sing a song that’s not in his native language, but he does so flawlessly! The judges are all blown away by his performance and they each turn their chairs around to lobby Mateusz to be on their team!
It’s clear by this rendition of “When a Man Loves a Woman” that Mateusz has a big career ahead of him in the music industry! Listen to him sing in the video below.
You truly will be blown away by Mateusz’s performance. His voice is incredible and he has obviously been blessed by amazing talent.
We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for Mateusz! He wowed the judges and he’ll wow you, too.
